I’ve stated my point about liking Akin Alabi as a music video director. I’m steadily turning into a big fan due to the way he and team 9ice have been able to visually communicate the brand 9ice everybody loves.

Talkin about the video production itself…i think this is one of my favourite SESAN videos.

So here’s Sho-Fro with a trailer for the single Ko Easy off their Death of The Skip Button mixtape. Directed by london’s James Mavrik aka iMavrik. Sho-Fro’s Taymii B. was also featured on Move It, a single off my Ibadan/Lagos/London mixtape. Both tracks were produced by Beautiful Music’s David Evans… Yex Box.

These post should really be about the fact that 2face just took it up another notch with this new single ‘Implication’ …everything from video to production — GREAT!!!!.

But leave story..I wanna talk about the ‘Video Girl’ jor….F wat u say, the naija music industry is really moving forward jor…is it beans to hav a video girl u wanna be ‘Implicated’ with in an ‘Under G’ way. We at the Federal Ministry of Jor Ooo ..say YEX SIXTA!…wat do u say?

I had started to write a long epistle on the qualities of this video, especially qualities of the director Akin Alabi, but I deleted it. I’ve never met him, but been keeping track of his projects, for selfish purposes maybe. I’ve learnt a little about his style, and I must say I really do like it. But most interestingly is how in this Gbamu Gbamu video, I think he has done a very good job of not only selling the ready-made hit, this is the first time a music video has been able to successfully communicate the brand 9ice.
